EHR Implemention Audit Leads to Greater Things
Divurgent has been working, over several months, with a client that recently changed from outsourcing their IT department to staffing their own. This organization asked Divurgent to come in, audit their current ambulatory EHR implementation and train IT and Clinical staff on ongoing management and optimization of the system.
As we’ve worked with them, they’ve continued to ask for assistance in varying areas including interfacing with end users, suggesting optimizations to the live system, and defining guidelines for change request management. As we continue to assist this client, our experience with training, IT leadership, change management, and system optimization continues to provide great value.

Jenna Barnes has joined the Recruiting Team as an Activation Recruiter. A recent graduate from Pennsylvania College of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Human Resource Management, Jenna has moved to the Virginia Beach area to pursue her career interests, not to mention the beach!
Brian FitzGerald has joined Divurgent’s Clinical Transformation team! Brian is a RN with an MSA in Healthcare Administration and has extensive knowledge of clinical, operational, and financial workflow in hospitals and in physician group practices. His most recent experience has been in clinical change realization, standardization of order sets, optimized workflow analysis, development / deployment of EMRs, deployment of electronic scheduling systems, Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) interoperability with disparate systems with the EMR, along with a strategy to deploy computerized provider order entry (CPOE) utilizing evidence based decision support to provide CMS Meaningful Use criteria. Brian has an exceptional understanding of the cardiovascular space and we look forward to leveraging his skills in this area.
Dr. Jeff Goldstein
Jeff is an internationally recognized consultant with over 2 decades of experience in senior administrative and clinical management for hospitals, ambulatory care centers and long term care facilities as well as extensive consulting experience in both the provider and payer segments of the industry with a focus on the medical management payer practice. He provides analytic and operational consulting expertise related to medical management, optimizing the quality of healthcare, improving clinical efficiencies and integrating interdisciplinary evidence-based medicine programs into an organization.
Michael is a nurse by clinical background, with the addition of a BS in Informatics, a MBA focused on Practice Management, and a PhD in Business Administration with a healthcare management focus. In his almost 20 years of experience, Michael has worked in a variety of clinical settings, from oncology to ambulatory and has lead projects focused on Meaningful Use readiness as well as EMR implementation experience with Meditech, Epic, Cerner, McKesson, HMS, and HCS. Michael is passionate about patient advocacy and ensuring equal access to medical care and treatment.
Gordon Lashmett joins our Advisory Services practice! Gordon brings over 16 years of healthcare IT leadership. He spent 10 years as an IT Director at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. St. John’s is a large academic medical center affiliated with Southern Illinois School of Medicine. Most recently Gordon served as the Vice President and CIO at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. At St. Anthony’s Gordon lead the successful implementation of the Epic Inpatient clinical systems as well as other systems including the eClinicalWorks ambulatory EMR and the GE PACS solutions in the radiology and cardiology areas.
Joe Miccio has joined Divurgent as a Client Services Vice President, covering the West Region. Joe has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry in hospital operations, IT systems sales, business solutions consulting, and HIT graduate studies. His healthcare background includes extensive knowledge of both the provider and payor sectors, with areas of expertise in strategic, technology and tactical planning focused on the emerging accountable transformation environment. Joe combines a national consulting perspective, with a proven business solutions record that has driven results and grown client revenue contributions. He has led major initiatives over the past two years on health reform driven accountable transformation, with an emphasis on IT infrastructure requirements for MU/HIE/ACO/BI-Analytics initiatives. Joe is an industry veteran and has spent time with MaxIT, CTG and First Consulting Group/CSC to name a few. He brings a tremendous amount of experience that will result in tremendous growth in our West Region.
Elizabeth “Liz” Sirois
Elizabeth Sirois will be supporting the Activation Management (Activate!) product line as our Activation Coordinator. She will work closely with our Business Development, Recruiting and Delivery teams to help ensure our team members have a great activation experience and our clients continue to be 100% referenceable. Liz has previous go-live and training experience working with school districts and governmental entities, converting their payroll systems to the MUNIS (www.munis.com). She previously worked for Clark Consulting supporting clients in the financial and pharmaceutical industries.
